Summary
Chico is a structured list and note tool. To run the service we process the account and content data needed to sign you in, sync your lists, and keep the product working. We do not sell your personal information. Use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
- Account data. If you sign in with Google (or another provider we enable), we receive identifiers and profile details that the provider shares with our authentication service (for example name, email address, and account id), as needed to create and secure your account.
- Content you provide. Lists, items, titles, links, and similar data you enter in the app are stored so the service can display and sync them for you.
- Technical data. Like most online services, our hosting and infrastructure may automatically log technical information such as IP address, device or browser type, and timestamps when you use the site or app. We use this for security, debugging, and reliability.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and improve Chico;
- Authenticate you and protect accounts from abuse;
- Store and sync your content across devices;
- Respond to support requests and comply with law where required.
Service providers
We rely on trusted third parties to host and operate the product. For example, account authentication and database services may be provided by Supabase, and sign-in through Google is subject to Google’s privacy policy. Those providers process data under their terms and only as needed to deliver the service.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Features such as completing or removing items may retain or remove data according to how the app is designed (for example, soft-deleted items may be rotated out over time). You can request deletion of your account or data where the product supports it; if you need help, contact us using the channels described below.
Security
We use industry-standard practices appropriate to the service—including access controls and encryption in transit where supported—to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we work to reduce risk and respond to issues when they arise.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal data, or to object to or restrict some processing. To exercise those rights, contact us as below. We may need to verify your request before we act on it.
Children
Chico is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. Continued use of Chico after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
Contact
For privacy-related questions or requests, please reach out through the feedback or support options available in the Chico app after you sign in, or visit the app for current contact paths.
